Svvvim with me.

Mona Lake, anyone? I should say, Burston Ponds... but I was introduced to it as a lake, and so shall it be forever and ever... amen.

I just want to swim. I just want to make friends with the Loch Ness Monster.

Summer Skin

Is anyone else stoked out of their mind for the Twilight Concert Series this summer? I am. Sort of.. Well... Yes, yes I am. I used to never NEVER miss a concert... but then they switched venues, from the Gallivan Plaza to Pioneer Park... and the magic IS still there, but it's different. Sometimes... I really miss that excitement. Maybe I just need to revamp this experience, make it new and shiny, maybe just go and pour myself back into the experience of being surrounded by the salt of the earth- people dancing, smoking, yelling across the grass. So far, summer means being sick and shut in. It's time to get back into my outside skin.

Date Night: Moonrise Kingdom

I am pretty obsessed with movies by Wes Anderson (Rushmore has been in my Top Five for years).
Which is why I was so excited to see Moonrise Kingdom, I practically used a paper chain, big red X's on the calender, and talked about it incessantly with anyone who will listen.

Chris took me out to the Broadway Theater, in SLC (check out how brilliant the Salt Lake Film Society is) and...
I was not disappointed.

Annette loves Frankie

Perfect summer movie = anything with Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. I'm getting my twist on with the Beach Party. My favorite part has to be the credits, when the girl with the tasseled dress shakes it -and shakes it good- for about 6 minutes.

BEACH PARTY full movie - Thanks Hulu!

Perfect Movie Food

There are periods of my life where I just feel low... for either no reason whatsoever or every reason. It happens. Which is why I love crying over a good movie. It gives me a reason to get both get the waterworks primed and then vent out all the sadness and the goo and the dark trapped in.
I went to see Brave on Friday, then Seeking a Friend for the End of the World on Saturday. Brave was and is lovely and brilliant, and another reason for me to stay a red head. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World was tragic and hilarious. I want to watch them both again... they cured my common blues. Or the mad reds, as Holly Golightly would say
Sometimes I just need a good cry.

Sometimes I need comfort food, like this:
Oh, how I love thee, Haribo Frogs and Henry Weinard's Creme Soda. Perfect movie food.

Home Again and Welcome Summer

Word up peeps. I'm back!

And I am very sorry for that first statement. Very very sorry.  But I'm out of my mind happy about  the second one.

I want to make all the photos of Berlin (GERMANY, not like that time I said I went to Moscow and everyone assumed Russia, when I meant Idaho), and Atlanta, GA pretty before I start slathering them on the internet.

This feels like a new world. This feels like a new leaf. Coming home feels like a rebirth and I'm not going to waste it.

More on this later.

Happy Summer to you.
