Evan Meets World

... Not just two thirds of the title of a hit TGIF sitcom in the 90's... Let's talk about my good friend Evan.

>Evan Carpenter has a good life. He travels. He's shoots film. He occasionally bumps into yours truly at shows in Provo. He's been labeled as "the indie Zac Efron". Plus, he's in a top three list I once made (You're welcome.).

A good good life.

Did I mention, and this was before my last paragraph got awkward, that he shoots film, travels... something along those lines? This boy gots talent (word). He created and hosts and SHOOTS a travel web show called "Evan Meets World" or EMW. Now I feel lazy. Thanks.
Let's break it down, or better yet, let me be even more lazy and copy and paste the boy's own words about his kickass YouTube channel: "EvanMeetsWorld is a travel show for adventurous souls with no money... or less money. No luxury getaways on this channel. Evan goes on cheap cultural adventures with a backpack and a camera. Stay tuned: Mexico, and India are next."

I'm gonna keep watching. You should probably start.
Right. Now.

Eyes Lips Eyes are pretty enough to die

I am infatuated with the strapping fellows of Eyes Lips Eyes (formerly The Elizabethan Report).

Ah, I love them ever so much. Once they even let me hold a tambourine and sing into a mic and what not. (The glory days, the glory days.)

Their music video 'Pretty' just finished getting high-fives at the SXSW Film Festival. I'm pretty sure these boys are going places.

Come see them and dance with me THIS FRIDAY. The end.

Preemptive Strike

I have talented friends.

Yea, verily...
Like, whoa...
To say the least.

I really feel like I need to celebrate my friends. I know some pretty amazing people. And what better way to throw out the confetti/blow up some balloons/start a fbook event/bake a cake large enough to fit some ladies into... I'm going off on a tangent, aren't I?... ahem... WHAT BETTER WAY to start up the celebrating then to write a mess of blogs hero-worshiping my people, my peeps, my amigos, my pals?

Starting today through the rest of this month (and on... why put limits on this love-fest?) I'm going to write something very nice telling the world about some very nice(and did I mention talented) people.

Dear friends. I want to be you when I grow up.

Impossible Bodies

This week for my Dancing Bodies class in GRADUATE SCHOOL (oh my gosh, I'm a genius and a snob and pretentious and so forth) I had to make a 2 minute film involving something that a normal-everyday-run-of-the-mill-innocent-bystander-type body wouldn't be able to do. Think super power-riffic. Think of the Impossible Body.

I went with levitation... naturally.

Watch Me.

This was quickly made, and quickly edited, but all and all I think we did a pretty tight job.
Thank you, oh thank you, dearest of Marshals and most gregarious of Christophers. You saved me with all your good help and advice.
