Treat and a gem and a treaty gem

Rare treat #1: Sunday afternoon, a trip to the airport, and ME getting a chance to drive my father's massive truck. I felt so manly... so... so powerful. NOW I finally see why there are so many egos fighting for a chance to not use their blinkers and to run my tiny Rio off the freeway. NOW I finally have the evidence I needed to support my theory that boyfriend circa 2004 was going to die young and take me down with him, in the snowball effect of his blowing up in his white trunk of doom. NOW I finally see why four wheel drive is imperative in the middle of a cloudless and mildly sunny Autumn afternoon... wait. No. That's still a mystery. Another mystery I'm dying to solve is why camouflage-painted-pickup-trucks are still a fad. I'm no red-neck, but I'm pretty sure that that genre of people have trends that go as swiftly in and out just like the rest of the world's genres. The camo-truck should be out... and stay out. Thank goodness Dad has enough sense to own normal colored vehicles only. Or I wouldn't have driven it anywhere. I have my standards....

Rare treat #2: My dad gave me a dollar to buy a soda and fruit snacks. Where are the days of thrift? Where are the days of car-trips sans sugar? Where are the days of non-indulgence to my whiney whims? I'm not complaining.

Rare treat #3: I drove in the carpool lane. ALL BY MY LONESOME for about 4 miles. I love road construction that allows me to do the normally impossible. I'd like to shake Utah transit's (yet ever-debilitating-so-they-have-to-perform-ridiculous-expensive-and-ill-timed-construction-on-my-path-o'-commute) hand. Mostly for letting be by myself for a moment to pretend I was Ms. Pacman (what a babe), which requires me to make loud chomping/eating sounds as I drive over the top of each car-pool diamond, which normally would annoy and confuse any innocent bystanders/passengers.

Thanks, Rich Balling.

I'm probably going to buy this book immediately. Or at least save some pennies till it happens... maybe then I'll also spring for the sequel to this collection.

THIS BOOK guarantees my place amongst the skinny jeans clad in indie heaven... according to Dallan.

Maybe I should just keep making posts like this, hinting wish list type paraphernalia, since Christmas is coming up and all...

in four months.

this is how I spent my summer vacation

Summer is...

finding ants in your sun-dried hair after laying on the hot cement to warm your bones post cold swimming pool excursions.
