Oh please please please, let me let me let me...

"Why I want to be a part of the Screen Dance Certificate program."

There is something so interesting, so delicate and precise even, to the art of film making. To me, my interest gains even faster momentum once the layer of dance is added to the mix. Dance for the camera is a happy tangent to my main art form, modern dance which inspires a creativity in me, and inspiration that moves me to slide in, roll up my sleeves, and get my hands dirty. The genre fascinates me. The person behind the camera, behind the choreography, behind the very intricate inter-working of their own mind and self, possesses the rare ability to more precisely control an audience's gaze. Of course, one can never fully zombify an audience, making them think what you think, see what you see. But then, what kind of person and artist would want a cookie cutter reaction to their art? Not this person. Not this artist. My interest in controlling an audience's gaze lies in the hope and wish to better understand my own art form, and thus my own self. The utilization of film, as it helps me to finely tune the intentions of the art I create, has a way of sending me down undiscovered paths and wild adventures into my psyche. This plunge into deeper understanding has helped me become even more exact in my artistic intention, which in turns helps me craft art that more clearly directs the audience. The circle moves on and on, refining itself into perfect crystallized artistic intention and even more perfect audience understanding. JOKING (I had you going there, didn't I?). I really don't believe that anything ends up with complete or perfect creative understanding, but at least during the process of creating films and dances that manipulate the audience's gaze I gain some clarity. This clarity, this knowledge of the subtle artistic nuances and the meaning that laces itself throughout the art, is something I can't get enough of. Through knowing my art more deeply, I gain more knowledge of myself, an addiction I don't mind indulging.

Remember that one time...

P.S.
I'M MARRIED!!!
The paper chain countdown ended on my blog without any pomp and circumstance. If I would have had time, would have posted a bazillion fireworks. I'll post more details as the photography rolls in, but the facts are thus: I love love LOVE being married, my wedding was amazing, my SLC and GA receptions were both brilliant.

I'm running out of superlatives.

These, and a whole slew of other lovely bridal photos were taken by the magnanimous and glittering (oh wondrous superlatives, saying everything I cannot)
Jessica Peterson this spring, in NYC, because I could. Check check her out immediately, maybe wine and dine her, take her to a show. She did a perfectly lovely job shooting portraiture of me taking on the Big Apple as Anne of Green Gables or other well dressed Victorian maidens.

Archived Wedding Flowers

No/Yes. I'm really quite torn on this whole subject:
While I am not yet an aged crone, prowling old tulip catalogs for photos of the prettiest of all posies to mod-podge to the walls my attic living space, full of dust, ceramic kittens, doilies, and, yes, the a fore-mentioned dog-eared tulip catalogs (my future looks bright), I do happen to obsess over the "Floral/Flower/Bower" portion of my "Wedding Ideas and Inspirations" archive. So now, my young girl soul is getting ticketed for the 'Intention To Act Like A Depression-Era Baby' - a real felony in some cases.
So I'm torn. Post these suckas', or send the whole file to the recycle bin. Now that I'm trying to clean up my workspace and desktop, these wedding trifles must go. The battle was fought (in all honesty, the battle was more of an argument between Snuggles (the laundry bear) and the cast of Blue's Clues, meaning not very hard, and full of hugs). Of course, being the hoarder that I am, it wasn't hard deciding to post my garden here. I MAY get nostalgic for wedding planning.
Sure, it might be a while... but it'll happen.

ALSO

I'm still waiting to get my wedding photos back (Jessica says that THURSDAY is my lucky day. Woot!), in order to share (brag) with the world my most beautiful of weddings. Posts like this will have to do for now.

Oh person person.

"Time.
There seems to be vast quantities of the stuff spooling around me in all directions,
everywhere I look.
Days and hours.
Weeks and minutes.
Years.
The hard part, I've discovered, is filling it. "
Melissa Bank (The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing)

My friend Tyler S. never seemed to have trouble filling his time.
He was an adventurer.
True blue. Dyed in the wool. Adventurer.
