Mock Prom 2014 "Romance Under The Sea"

I finally got around to going through the photos from the 30th bday party this last August. I have a truck-load of superlatives for my amazing family, and super awesome friends. They helped me pull this party together, and it looked FABULOUS. Give these people crepe paper and THEY. WILL. WORK. I love being 30 (don't forget the motto of turning dirty 30: thirty, flirty, and thriving!) and I hope that I am never one of these people who claim younger ages or wish I still had my youth or blah blah blah. I like being me, because I am the prom queen of my life and I am going to be young till I die (asleep at age 110, holding my tennis racket - I pick up the sport in my 80's, and my Euro-trash 73 year old lover, because I like them young, into terrible music, and with accents, but mostly because Chris keeps telling me he's going first because "STATISTICS SHOW THAT MEN DIE FIRST NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAA". I don't buy it.)

Hello, 30. This is going to be fun.

Of course, I was Prom Queen. Duh.

I took my mom to Prom! She is the best person in the world.

Watermelon Boyfriend

I can't even.
Nope.
Not even a little bit.

Grace is the prettiest 16 year old in the efffffing world. I love her and all my sisters so much.
Especially when she's cool about being kawaii in all my photos.

The Anderson Family take Sugarhouse by storm...

I love these people.
I am so glad that they are in my life.

My fake kids and secret dreams of the snow, aka. the Wall Family

This is my sister Whitney and her Supermanhusband, Ryan.
I LOVE THEM SO SO MUCH.
Mostly because they are awesome, but also because they had kids (four boundless bundles of joy, to be exact) and I love them MORE.
JK, (but only kind of, tee hee)... I will write a love letter to you, Ms Whitney, once I get home to Utah to do another family photo for you. XOXO.

When I have a family, I really hope that they are as bright, beautiful, interesting, quirky, and unique as the Wall kids (and parents) are. Good thing I'm pregnant. JUST KIDDING.
You'd love that, wouldn't you, ENTIRE FAMILY?

I couldn't leave out Willow. Because I secretly plan on stealing her, changing her name to Balto, and training her to lead my brave sled dog pack down the Iditarod trail, along with the Wall family's two cats.
Pipe dreams.

My Gracie Girl. (Yes, I'm quoting Ben Folds again.)

This is a love note to my sister Grace.

Here is Being from a big family has always been important to me. I love ALL ten of us, although and the youngest ones have felt like my "kids" from time to time during my stint as the 2nd eldest child. The babies of the family hold a special place in my heart.

So, stop being so adult and human and grown up all of the sudden.
(That is for ALL OF US, not just Miss Grace.)

Let's just stay little and go make a snowman.
Better yet, let's pull out the kiddie pool and march around the house with beach towels over our shoulders, pretending to be fancy lady cows, yes cows, chanting "We're fresh from the dairy, we're fresh from the dairy, we're fresh, we're fresh, we're fresh from the dairy."
Yes, this happened.
Though Grace wasn't born yet for this type of childishness.
(Sorry, love.)
(Whitney, Bonnie, Cousin Jeremy? Anyone remember this?)

There is something so delicate and fragile about this girl in front of a camera. I feel as if she has a way with conveying emotion that is beyond what normal mortals can do. She has such depth and then such beauty in that depth, that your breath catches and you wonder what happened to the little girl you used to chase around the yard in fancy fairy wings (who am I kidding, either of you could have had those one at any time).

I adore my Grace, and I will always push her to do every thing.
Because I like making her live better than I did and am.
Amen and amen.

So... thank you for letting my push you into photo shoots, time and time again. You are just too good a this to not use time and time and time and time again.
