Monster Mash 2014: #31 & HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE ANNE

One month later, as I catch up on Monster Mashin, back-posting blogs about my favorite month (I was a ghost for about a month, nbd. To be honest, from day 23 and on, I had ghosted, but now have totally pretended like I was on top of this ish, and found some primo-top-of-the-line-choice-cut Monster images for you) and I have realized I have almost completely forgotten about one of my favorite person's BIRFFFDAY.

Kate.
You are great.
I want to write you long letters, epic tales, three sagas, a tome,
but this will have to do: a song.
Kate.
It's your birthday.
It's your party, their your friends, so you can cry too.
The day before you stepped into this world, the skies were gold, and cabbage crooned.
Everyone stood on their head, turned around three times, wished they were dead...
But you opened your eyes,
squealed out, shook your fists,
and the world turned rightside up again, because,
Kate.
You are great.

Monster Mash 2014: #22

I've always wanted to be able to Monster-ize an old goodwill painting.

Monster Mash 2014: #21

This Snickers commercial is equal parts creeptastic and hilarious.

And now that you're feeling comfortable... take a gander at the creeps in this photo and get your chills sorted out:

Monster Mash 2014: #20

I just opened a buzzfeed page entitled "7 Truly Terrifying 1920s Photos Of The Boogeyman".
I can't unsee this. All the reasons I never sleep are directly linked to watching "Don't Look Under The Bed" when I was a tween.

Monster Mash 2014: #15

I love carousels.
I even love the scary ones that look like they will eat you up.
Ride 'em, cowgirl.

Monster Mash 2014: #11

Steven Spielberg being eaten by Jaws.
A just reward for making 'A.I. Artificial Intelligence' (a movie that devastated my tween-hood, but was also terrible. Follow that logic.)

Mock Prom 2014 "Romance Under The Sea"

I finally got around to going through the photos from the 30th bday party this last August. I have a truck-load of superlatives for my amazing family, and super awesome friends. They helped me pull this party together, and it looked FABULOUS. Give these people crepe paper and THEY. WILL. WORK. I love being 30 (don't forget the motto of turning dirty 30: thirty, flirty, and thriving!) and I hope that I am never one of these people who claim younger ages or wish I still had my youth or blah blah blah. I like being me, because I am the prom queen of my life and I am going to be young till I die (asleep at age 110, holding my tennis racket - I pick up the sport in my 80's, and my Euro-trash 73 year old lover, because I like them young, into terrible music, and with accents, but mostly because Chris keeps telling me he's going first because "STATISTICS SHOW THAT MEN DIE FIRST NA-NA-NA-NA-NAAA". I don't buy it.)

Hello, 30. This is going to be fun.

Of course, I was Prom Queen. Duh.

I took my mom to Prom! She is the best person in the world.
