nitpicky admiration

I love Joanna Newsom.
I love everything about her from her weird mouth movements to her squeaky little girl voice. Here is the lovely lady, performing on the David Letterman show, and as he so eloquent puts it, is apparently sitting in Sarah Palin's living room. The set designer enjoyed one to many taxidermy projects (Isn't ONE dead peacock enough??). But, oh, do I ever and forever love this Joanna-lady. Enjoy:

Acronym and Initialism

FINALLY, I have found my playlist to my b-day present from one, Chris N, a previously mentioned music guru-friend of mine. Instead of numbering this list, the boy used my name in an acronym. Brilliant. (Side note to the Man, himself: Seriously start that music blog already! Do it do it do it.)

C. Sufjan Stevens - "Chicago"
(Adult Contemporary Easy Listening Version)
L. Spiritualized -
"Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space"
A. LCD Soundsystem - "All My Friends"
(Franz Ferdinand Version)
I. Blue Roses - "I Am Leaving"
R. Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - "Rider Strong"
E. Rogue Wave - "Every Moment"
B. The Who - "Baba O'Riley"

Sisters and Temporary Tattoos...

. . . both are things that I love.
(I'm pretty sure these photos are from LAST winter, but it felt appropriate to use them now.)
I also love it when those little sisters steal my phone and take lots of photos of me practicing (quite a task because of the care I tried to take to not smudge the marker-tattoo boyfriend-of-the future-Chris Hayes(at the time of these photos he was merely in the friend zone... good job locking that down, boo)drew on my arm in bored rebellion). Living with my little sisters is like having my very own private paparazzi, living in my home to document my marker-drawn-pseudo-rockabilly lifestyle.
I love these girls. So so much.

Driving aimlessly with you.

This is what I miss today.
Come back soon. I'm getting antsy... so tired of going to holiday parties without you.

Well, duh.

Christian Louboutin prefers a woman to have some curve to her: "If you look at some women's legs, like Tina Turner or Serena Williams, they have those very sexy legs and the upper part is big. Most dancers, real dancers, have big upper legs, which I love. I never liked skinny legs."

Now I love him even more... throw in a pair of Louboutins and I'll worship at his cobbler feet.

Thanks.

Black Label by Bando

(Julie's buzz awesomeness just directed me to my new favorite accessories ever.)

Neon and ticket stubs and rental rollerblades

I'm very very very behind in posting photos. I blame the lack of fbook, the weather, the government, and WWII. I blame everything but myself. There. Now I feel better.
As I didn't have my skates with me, but I DID have my camera, I ended up documenting the neon and coin-operated-ticket-distributing games (one day I WILL win that switchblade comb and kazoo) and making Katie B act as a pin-up girl for the majority of the frivolity.

I think I want to have my own nature show one day, with voice overs by some James Earl Jonesy type. . . but instead of nature, I'll document hip birthday parties... but only if I am allowed to attach wheels to my feet.
