Loose Leaf Paper: Lost and Found

I recently posted a bunch of photos on my facebook of a bunch loose papers I had been storing in my keepsake box. Some of them just need a little recognition before I toss them to the wind, and lessen my pack rat-i-ness. My relics and back of drawer findings.

  • One Ticket Stub from the State Wrestling Competition, where the origins of "GO RITCHIE, GET BETTER FASTER" originated.
  • One Headless Paper Doll, named Prince
  • One House Comp Ticket to the Off Broadway Theater
  • 'Last Things': (I'm not going to write out the whole poem here, as it is traumatic and angst-y times fifty) "Last kiss. Last night... (You get the picture. Ten more lines of that nonsense, but then comes the last line that ...) Last time I was held, lasting lasting lasting... crazy girl. Map on."
  • Unarmed Stage Combat Choreography Worksheet
  • One planner page with the words barely erased "Claire loves Steve"
  • Old planner pages, from 2001 - when I was a senior in High School, with dates filled in with descriptions like "My Birthday!! Yippee Yahoo", "Wam Bam Summer Jam- The Day I met the man I'm going to marry! (Corby)", "Super Fan Club Meeting", "Musical Tryouts", "I MADE THE MUSICAL! YAHOO!", "Bingham Ball", "NSYNC Concert", and my favorites: "In Celebration of Mere's mother's birthday, I'm going to chalk my crush's home, if I have one" and "Prom, expect to cry softly into your pillow while watching 'City of Angels'
  • Written out, the lyrics to "Someone To Watch Over Me"
  • "CONGRATULATIONS!!! Clair Bagley, you have been chosen to participate in the mud fight at Spirit Bowl. There will be a mandatory run through Thursday after school. Friday you will be excused 1st and 2nd periods."
  • A name card made for me by my friend Halee when I moved into her Apartment.
  • A gap business card, which has written on the back, in sloppy pen ink, a schedule of when my friend CJ and I would take turns dating the hot RA Josh. Apparently I get him Tues, Thurs, and Sat and She gets every other day, other than Sundays, when we alternate visitation rights. Its all there, shamelessly in Black and White.
  • Anatomy Notes: Major Muscle Insertion and Origins (aka fibularis (peroneus) brevis: origin- lateral shaft of fibula, Insertion- 5th metatarsel tendon)
  • A note from my now dead friend Rowen, who used to write me the purposefully worst love notes like "Meet me behind the tree at midnight. So we can make sweet hot love all night long." Miss you, buddy.
  • My reunion contact sheet that was due in 2002. Oops.
  • Goal List from 2003: Meet Some one: Intro Self, Sign Up for service project, Play the Princess Game when I'm bored, Don't annoy Jennifer and Hilary by calling them too often, never stay more than 20 minutes in room during waking hours, Apply to SUU or BYU ID
  • A journal page ripped out of 2005 list of bands I like/d: The Cure, Brand New, Lola Ray, Weezer, Postal Service, Ben Folds (5), Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Cursive, Jimmy Eat World, Dandy Warhols, ABBA, The Strokes, Bright Eyes, LAO, The Hives, A Badly Drawn Boy, Amity, Radiohead, Frou Frou, The Brobecks, MXPX, The Shins, Iron and Wine, Coheed and Cambria, Billy Idol, Taking Back Sunday (1st album), Madonna, Northstar, Mae, Hidden in Plain View, Dashboard Confessionals, Ani DiFranco, Julie Brown, Yo-yo Ma, Tori Amos, Nathaniel's Endevours, The Streets, Frank Sinatra, Seve vs Evan, Simon and Garfunkle, James Taylor, Drew Danberry, Motion City Soundtrack, IMA Robot, Days Like These (ha ha), New Found Glory (old school), Good Charlotte (old school), The Used (old school), Queen, Led Zeppelin, Styx, Jessica Something Jewish, Flogging Molly, Yellowcard, Something Corporate, Early November, Eisley, Bing Crosby, Armor For Sleep, LAMB, Cold Play, Dropkick Murphys, Shiny Toy Guns, Black Eyed Peas, Outcast, Polymorphic Spree, My Chemical Romance, The Police/Sting, Hot Hot Heat, Ben Kweller, Ella Fitzgerald
  • On the other side a page of doodles from the Spring of 2005, mostly of song lyrics, state capitals, and stick figures: "Excuse me too busy... you're writing your tragedy", "Moths not Hearts", "Cut up into stars and thrown upwards..."

The Sun and Summer

Add caption
I've been hanging out with my nieces and nephew a lot the last few days since they are staying at my Mother's home for the week. After laying around my mother's home, watching movies and eating licorice with my sick sister, I was in a blue mood, a red mood if you are Holly Golightly. That lackadaisical cloud followed me around all day, and nothing I was doing inside the house was lifting that weight. I knew that the only thing to do to combat my low was to soak up some vitamin D. I went outside to get some sun on the trampoline, and Niece #1 followed me out to beg me to jump instead of sunbathe. So we jumped, then she jumped, and I took photos of her amazing feats with my broken phone. I was still in my swimsuit from our visit to the splash pad/park visit that morning (day two of running through fountains... you'd think they'd be over it, but child-like wonder beats out post teenage angst any day), so I decided to make Niece #1 spay me with the hose that was soaking the sun-burnt grass. That swiftly turned to us making our own splash pad out of the garden hose and the trampoline, despite the otherwise dryness of Niece's clothes. Niece #2 came out and joined in the thorough soaking (though we find out later she had been sent to gather us to the dinner table, oops). I crossed my fingers and hoped I wouldn't get anyone in trouble for getting soaked before dinner. We jumped and danced and pretended it was raining and that we we at the end of the rainbow made by the sun and our laughter.

They usually don't allow pets in here, but...

Today Chris caught a gigantic dragonfly in our hall.
He named it Gunther, which is normally a penguin only name... but I'll let it pass.

He is a serious pet owner. Very serious. Deeply serious.

Kelly, The Pre-wedding Shindig

Here is another late posting... as Mike and Kelly have been married for over three weeks now. But I took photos at the backyard Bridal Shower I threw for her...at her is more likely, as I LOVE throwing parties. I practically beg people to let me throw them a party... and drive them to the airport. I love bizarre multi-layered organizational tasks. Apparently. Point is, I love parties. I love Kelly. Here's some photos from her shindig.

Scrumptious finger foods and cupcakes:

I love this sandwich. I'd live off of it if I could. Chicken salad sandwiches (with apples and cashews) on criossants. I'd take a bullet for one of those chickies right now.

Amanda brought such great cupcakes and cookies to the party. She saved the dessert dept of this party from being barren!

 The Grandmothers!:

Sam and... the other cute dancer girl.
P.s. EITHER ONE OF YOU- feel free to date my brother(s).

Kelly reeeeeally wanted to open presents.

Pretty Kelly Girl.

Can I throw you a party? Can I, can I?

Color Me In.

A prelude of pictures to come.

This is far far too late to late in posting some of my spring photos. In March Chris, Mike, and Kelly and I went down to Spanish Fork to celebrate Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colors! We painted the town red, then pink, then yellow, green, and purple... Holi is always something I look forward to, one of my favorite days of the year. The feeling of love and happiness ran rampant through the crowds of the chromatised. I wish I could feel this sort of mass passion every day. Forget any of the naysayers, any of the disillusioned... this day is amazing, and you need to experience it for yourself.

Never been to Holi Fest? Here are some tips for the day.
  • Don't forget your face mask/scarf/bandana. You want to be able to have fun and keep breathing, especially if you are in as big a crowd as the one at the Spanish Fork Krishna Temple.
  • Start clean. It's more fun when you are a blank canvas:

  • Be prepared to rub elbows with a whole lot of strangers... keep the love, keep the peace, keep your temper.
  • Buy your color early. It's worth it not to have to push through the crowd into a sweltering tent to buy your color.
  • If you don't buy your colors early, remember to bring your spare cash- no credit machines! You'll need your cash for colors, food, or souvenirs.
  • Don't be worried if you get color on you before the "Big Throw". Share your color with strangers just as they are already sharing theirs with you!
Look at my handsome man. I am a lucky girl.

Kelly's hair made a perfect canvas.

Chris' handywork. Woot!

  • Don't forget to visit the neighbors. The llamas are lovely conversationalists.

The llamas loved this little dog. They completely ignored us when this little guy was around.

  • What did I say about a blank canvas? Light colors are always best.
  •  THE BIG THROW: HAVE FUN. Don't hold back! Use that powder and paint, dance, and laugh! This is a once in a lifetime moment... this is living!

Take it like a man.

 Oh, this should happen. Lots.

Let's all go next year.
