Guts

Today I tripped over to visit my dear friend Pea Pie Pearl's blog. She had asked the question:

"What would you do if you had guts?"

ME?

I would try out for more musicals. I would let my musical theatre soul free to rock, and never look back.

I was watching Glee (for the FIRST TIME EVER. Whoa, the Spanish/glee club teacher is fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnneeee) last night and it made me cry.

NOT A NORMAL REACTION TO TELEVISION.
Watching the rival school perform "Rehab" hit me hard, it was brilliant and amazing and a billion things that I don't have the words to describe right. What it simply did was kick me in the face and make me realize how much I really miss it all.
I miss the whole sterotypical bit: the lights/the sounds/the makeup/the COSTUMES. That stuff is a given. Most of all, I JUST miss doing extraordinary things, the things I don't get to do every single day, unless its a theme party or my birthday (note to self... start planning this immediately).
I miss hiking my skirt up and high-kicking. I miss fake swimming on the floor whilst wearing a bonnet. I miss spray painting my hair and body to look Puerto Rican. I miss kissing then slapping then kissing a pirate. I miss tap dancing and ripping off layers of clothes to reveal show-girl tights and feathered caps. I miss rehearsing, YES REHEARSING- early in the AM and late into the PM, all to perfect 3 minutes of glitter and sound. I miss being dramatic and loud and corny. Those Glee people BE MY PEOPLE AND I MISS IT ALL.
This is going to happen. Mark my words.
Now answer the question posed... what would YOU do if you had the guts?

  1. You shouldn't watch Glee because it hates women, ethnic minorities, the handicapped...pretty much anybody but white men.

I'll give you the lecture in person.

  2. This is exactly how I feel when I watch Glee :') ..

    And to answer your question:

If I had guts, I would dare the believe that one day I'll get to be where they are. On a stage, with an audience, doing what I love. Instead of thinking how I'm going to open my shop.

  3. I miss all those things too! I'm with you- I'd get more in touch with my performer side!

I'd also share my opinions more.
